It is 10 degrees Celsius and mostly sunny as I write this post and part of me wants to go take my laptop with me outside and go write this while enjoying this beautfiul spring weather we’ve been having.
Spring is finally in the air and with that I bring you some more music recommendations for your “walking in the park” and “spring cleaning” playlists.
Lizzo - About Damn Time
Lizzo has a new single and it slaps! A confident and upbeat track that screams “I’ve been down and out and its my time to shine”
Oh, I been so down and under pressure
I'm way too fine to be this stressed, yeah
Oh, I'm not the girl I was or used to be, uh
Bitch, I might be better
Damn right.
Charli XCX - Used To Know Me
Charli XCX dropped a album this year and its great but I want to highlight this particular track that is one of my favourites.
With a infectious beat worthy of being played on the dance floor of a club, Charli breaks out of a relationship. Spring cleaning ain’t just about throwing away old trash in your attic folks.
You used to know me, now you don't
You used to hypnotize me, did it so easy
I'm finally free from your control
I don't need a kiss goodbye, I'm on my own tonight, oh
You used to know me, now you don't
You used to hypnotize me, did it so easy
I'm finally free from your control
I don't need a kiss goodbye, I'm on my own tonight, oh
redveil - diving board
I am recommend this one because redveil’s production skills are incredible. This entire album is just one smooth as fuck track after another so yeah if you like this track, go and listen to the entire album.
Pusha T - Just So You Remember
I am planning on doing a review of the latest Pusha T album at some point but for now, I just want to recommend this particular very aggressive joint. Pusha T’s particular brand of braggadocious lyrics is something I just can’t get enough of. I also gotta say, the sample of a 1971 rock song Six Day War by Colonel Bagshot works /really/ well with the lyrics of this track.
Architectural Digest my premises
She just spent a million on the finishes
Millionaires were made out of middlemen
That hole in the attic was not for a ceiling fan
Army Celine, the wardrobe is militant
And army fatigue when I talk pyramids
Just so you remember who you dealin' with
The purest snow, we sellin' white privilege
Designer drugs will turn niggas limitless
Designer clothes, these hoes losing innocence
The book of blow, just know I'm the Genesis
Whew lord. 🥵
Kehlani, Blxst - any given sunday
The latest Kehlani album is just a good vibe. Mellow R&B all the way through with nice productions means it actually is a perfect album to put on during a lazy summer Sunday.
ODESZA, Bettye LaVette - The Last Goodbye
ODESZA is back! To be specific, they appear to be preparing for a album drop with some singles. This one samples the Bettye LaVette track “Let Me Down Easy” and does it in typical ODESZA fashion, that is a electro mix with just enough to keep you hooked.
I made you a playlist :3
Like the last time I did a track roundup like this I made y’all a Spotify playlist for easy of use. Apologies if you use a different streaming service!
Until next time!
